Come learn more about efforts in place to form a MWV area arm of PAREI, the Plymouth Area Renewable Energy Initiative, responsible for ‘Energy Raisers,’ the neighbor-to-neighbor concept of installing solar hot water systems on homes. Join Hawk aficionado Bill Hancock as he covers the basics of hawk identification looking at field marks, flight, and behavior of migrating hawks of the Northeast. Friday night’s classroom session will be followed by a field trip on Saturday to Little Round Top Mountain in Bristol, NH, to put newly learned skills into action! Join us for either or both sessions.

Join Dr. Pamela Hunt of New Hampshire Audubon as she reviews her recent report to the Non-game and Endangered Wildlife Program of New Hampshire Fish and Game, State of New Hampshire’s Birds. The report is a summary of population trends for all of New Hampshire’s breeding birds, totaling 186 species.

Whether you want to better your naturalist skills or simply enjoy some outdoor exercise while meeting interesting people, or enjoy an evening nature outing with your family you enjoy taking part in Tin Mountain Wednesday evening walks and talks. Beginning the first week in July, topics will cover birds, beavers, frogs, trees, insects, mushrooms and granite, and whatever may strike the fancy of Tin Mountain’s intern Naturalist.

Logger and local historian Fred Lavigne will lead this trip to the remains of an abandoned saw mill near White Ledge. Explore the old foundations and relics and learn more about the rich logging history that helped shaped the Mt. Washington Valley. Meet at TMCC and we’ll carpool down the road!
