While the trail’s at Tin Mountain’s Rockwell Sanctuary in Albany have always been open during daylight hours, the Nature Learning Center will now be open weekends as well. The building will be open to the public 9am -4pm on both Saturday and Sunday, unless there is a private function, in which case just the trails will be open.

For the month of August, the following programs will be offered:

Busy Beavers: Celebrating Nature’s Greatest Engineers
Sundays August 7, 14 & 28 from 10am-12pm
Join us for an exploration to the sanctuary’s beaver pond and all the evidence of past and current beaver activity along the way. And even if we don’t spot one of the resident rodents, don’t worry! We’ve got mounts, furs, and other resources to explore!
Program Fee: $15/person or $25/household; members are free!

Slow Walking: Look, Listen & Learn on a Leisurely Stroll
Saturdays August 13 & 27 from 9-11am
The hot days of August are a prefect time to slow down and take a closer look at the natural world all around us. These leisurely investigations of the grounds are perfect for all ages. You are never too young or too old to take the time to look and listen.
