Tin Mountain Winter Homeschool Series is Now Enrolling New Students 8-12 yrs old
The Tin Mountain Conservation Center will be presenting a winter themed homeschool series, Wednesdays January 8th through March 25th, from 10am to noon.
Swirling blizzards! Freezing temperatures! Crashing avalanches! Tin Mountain’s next homeschool session will be focused on all things winter. Students will study topics such as animal and plant adaptations to survive in the cold and snow, animal tracking, winter weather, snow crystals and structure, fire and shelter building, solar ovens, and more.
The Tin Mountain homeschool program is a nature focused, hands-on learning program, designed to teach through immersion in the outdoors. We will spend a little time in the classroom, but will mostly use our extensive trail system at the Conservation Center as a way to get students out and learning.
This Tin Mountain homeschool series will run Wednesdays, January 8th through March 25th for a total of 11 classes. (There will be no class on February 19th.) Cost is $13/class for Tin Mountain members and $15/class for non-members. There is a discount for signing up for the whole series by January 8th 2020; Tin Mountain member cost is $130 and non-member cost $150. For questions or to register, call Phaedra Demers or Matt Maloney at Tin Mountain at 603-447-6991, or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
