The North American Butterfly Association has been conducting butterfly count programs throughout the US, Canada and Mexico since 1993. There are approximately 450 counts, and in 2023 there will be one more with the addition of a North Conway count! Similar to the Christmas Bird Count, a 15-mile diameter count circle will be established and we will begin monitoring the area on an annual basis. Our first count will be held July 22-23, and we are looking for volunteers. If counting and recording butterflies sounds overwhelming, don’t be deterred! Join us for this information session where we will cover what will be involved in the count as well as discuss training opportunities for interested individuals. We hope to see you there!
