From noon until 1pm

At Nature Learning Center

Join us with UNH Extension Professor, Alan Eaton, to discuss the winter tick or Dermacentor albipictus. As its name implies, this tick is active in the winter. It is more common in the northern part of New Hampshire and is known to find moose, deer, and horses as hosts. The discussion will range from how to identify winter ticks to how they are affecting the moose populations in New England. Alan will have pictures as well as possibly some specimen to look at to accompany his presentation.
