Saturday, October 3, 2009 11:30 AM – 4 PM

Tin Mountain Conservation Center, Albany NH
Cost $25 for adults, $10 for students, $5 children

Your ticket is your passport to seven historic barns within a 15 mile radius of TMCC. Be greeted by barn owners and docents. Learn New England farming history, barn structure, and present day barn usages. Enjoy a scavenger hunt-fun for the whole family! Learn about farm field layouts for crop lands, mowing lands, pastures, and the stone-walled cow paths that led to them. Farm and barn owners, history buffs, and those who dream of owning or restoring an old farmstead will find both the “North Country Barn” presentation and “Historic Farm Tour” event very informative.

In honor of the “Historic Barn Tour Event” the Eastman Lord House in Conway will open its doors to the public from noon to 4 PM and will display antique farm tools as well as a photo exhibit of local farmsteads and barns thanks to local history buff, Kristina Whitten.

The Historic Barn Tour is sponsored in part by Reliable Oil and Propane, WMWV 93.5, Magic 104.5, and the barn owners. Call Donna Dolan or email ddolan@tinmountain.org. for more information.
