Tin Mountain is currently hiring for THREE Summer Research Positions:

One Avian Ecology position and Two Brook Trout Habitat Restoration Positions.

  • Avian Ecology: internship involves conducting weekly avian point count surveys on properties we steward and on other conserved private land in the area, assisting with songbird banding activities and MAPS station operation, re-sighting previously color-banded species, and collecting associated forest habitat data.
  • Brook Trout Ecology & Stream Restoration: internships involve researching the influence of adding large woody material to first and second-order forested streams, collecting data pertaining to instream habitat measurements, benthic macroinvertebrate sampling and identification, and electro-fishing. Interns will also have the opportunity to assist with large wood additions.

We encourage local students studying in a related field to apply.
