If you answered yes to one or more of the following statements, then you are a perfect candidate for Tin Mountain Conservation Center’s Naturalist Certification Program. If you answered yes to all of the following, we’re your perfect support group! If you’re already sold on the program or would just like to learn more, join us for the Naturalist Certification Program Kick-off Reception on Thursday, April 15, 6-7pm at the Nature Learning Center on Bald Hill Road in Albany.

The Tin Mountain Conservation Center Naturalist Certification Program (NCP) encourages community members to increase their understanding of the natural world while developing new skills to share as Certified Naturalists. Participants attend various Adult Nature Courses, Nature programs, and special workshops to fulfill their certification. In the future, Certificate candidates may also be able to pursue a more specialized Niche Naturalist certificate that develops expertise in a focused area of natural science/natural history.

The NCP reflects a well-rounded understanding of local landscape and processes and the ability to share the knowledge with other members of the community.  It is ideal for residents of the Mt. Washington Valley given the area’s emphasis on recreational activities and opportunities to disseminate its natural history with visitors.

The April 15th Naturalist Certification Kick-off Reception will provide an overview of the program, including requirements and intended outcome. The event is free and includes a light dinner.  A special vernal pool exploration (for naturalists only!) will follow the information session to kick off earning those credits!  Please RSVP for the reception by emailing Nora Beem (nbeem@tinmountain.org) or call 447-6991.  We hope to see you there!
