19May2022

From 7pm until 8pm

Join Chris Lewey of RAVEN Interpretive Programs to discuss the southern-most nesting colony of Atlantic Puffins on Eastern Egg Rock on the Mid-coast of  Maine. In this presentation we’ll discuss the interesting attributes of Egg Rock and how puffins and several other species were restored to this small nesting island in Muscongus Bay.    Other birds of Egg Rock include Common and Arctic Tern, the endangered Roseate Tern, Black Guillemot, Common Eider, Double-crested Cormorant, Herring Gull, Greater Black-Backed Gull, and Laughing Gull and often some unexpected visitors.  We’ll make this journey to Egg Rock through this slide presentation this evening keeping in mind the opportunity to venture for real in June on RAVEN’s annual puffin trip to see these birds in action during their nesting season.
