Dr. Len Reitsma has studied migratory bird populations for over 25 years. He will present a program on Sept 14 that will highlight research on the biology and ecology of migration. What senses do birds use to navigate? How much of a geomagnetic sense do they have? What cues do they use to return to the same territories on both breeding and nonbreeding grounds? And what new techniques are being used to investigate migration patterns? The program will start with a presentation on these and other topics. After a break for dinner, all will go outdoors and listen for nocturnal migrating songbirds.

Tuition $20/member and $25/non-member. Price includes dinner. Call 447-6991 for reservations.
