What are the best apps for exploring nature with? This session will take a look at a dozen different smartphone apps that will help you identify what bird, plant, or tree that you find along the trail. Field guides are great but heavy to carry out in the field. Our new smartphones can help us discover and enjoy nature in new ways. Some of the new apps also help us document climate change in the White Mountains. We will also discuss using some of the navigation apps for use on trails to back up our paper maps.
