Sat, May 10, 9AM – 1PM Nature Learning Center Stop shooting in auto mode! Spend the day getting deeper into the creative process by using more of the functions of your camera or dusting off the ones you hardly use. The course, taught by Joe Klementovich, will start inside learning about how to get the most out of your camera. The morning session will be followed by a field session exploring in and around the Rockwell Sanctuary, learning how to capture the best images possible. No camera is too big or too small, so no matter your camera, join us for a day of shooting and sharing photographs.

Learn more about these blood borne pathogens as Dr. Alan Eaton discusses where cases of infected mosquitos are being found, symptoms of the viruses, and how to reduce your risk of being infected.

Thurs, April 24, 6–8PM and Sat, April 26, 9AM – 12PM Nature Learning Center $10 members, $15 non-members/session, $15/members or $25/non-members for both days There is no better way to learn about the natural history of New Hampshire’s fish than from Clay Groves; the man who made it his mission to catch and eat every kind of fish in New Hampshire! During the evening portion of this course, Clay will go over the basics of identifying 48 different species of fish. His talk will also include which of the 48 species are native, non-native, or categorized as invasive, and practices to in order to ensure sustainable fishing. On Saturday, join Clay as he leads a trip down to Chase pond in the Rockwell Sanctuary, to sample the minnows and other fish living within the beaver pond. EcoForum: Conway Recycles Public Work Director, Paul DegliAngeli Thur, April 10, Noon-1PM Nature Learning Center When you are unloading an armful of trash, it can be a challenge to remember just what can be recycled and what cannot. Most plastic products can be recycled with the right symbol, but can plastic shopping bags? Aluminum cans should be recycled but should aluminum foil? Recycling in Conway is mandatory, so if you use the Conway Transfer Station, make sure you know the regulations of Conway’s Recycling program. Paul DegliAngeli, Public Works Director, will discuss Conway’s ongoing efforts to recycle and extend the life of our landfills.
